Don't ask, don't tell…: o) Friday started out so slow. Work was really bringing me down. Even though I really don't do anything at work, I still felt utterly exhausted. I had to be there at 6:30 am which really sucks when you know you have a four hour drive to look forward to. Finally when my day was done I bid everyone farewell and rushed back home to finish packing. Joel an I set the tent up earlier yesterday so really the only thing we had to do was get our clothes and blankets packed up and hit the road. But of course Joel was a little lagged from not getting much sleep the night before. He insisted we stay home and take and hour nap. All I could do was look at him and laugh, ummm yeah that's not happening. I told him that I would drive and he could sleep, he was hesitant, just wanted that few extra minutes but he eventually rose and helped me pack. Once we double checked to make sure we had everything: Cell phone: check Money: check Camera: check I.D: Check Tent and Clothes: Check Blankets and pillow: Check Joel: Check Markers and Construction paper (For signs of course, they are essential): boooooo, Joel said No…the stinker Once I checked and double checked to make sure I had everything, ya see Joel didn't bring much so everything he needed was in his pockets, and we were off. There was a bit of traffic on the highway, as if everyone else knew that it was going to be a great weekend too and they wanted to get to their paradise before anyone else. As I sat in the drivers seat, munching a bag of funions, Joel ever so slowly……..drifted into…………sleep. Only to grab my leg and jerk back awake and say I'm up I'm up. All I could do was laugh and tell him to put a pillow over his head. He finally fell asleep again as I sat bouncing in my seat singing to myself and flipping the radio stations, not satisfied with one channel for the mere fact of what I knew was coming in store for us tonight. Joel slept for about an hour before he arose a cranky mess. He proceeded to flip my radio station from a song that I liked and was singing too and tell me how bad my driving was. All I could do was laugh; I'm used to his crankiness by now so I foreshadowed it. We took a stretch at the rest stop and proceeded, minus a cranky Joel who was now becoming increasingly exited. Since it was a merry hippy holiday Joel pull out his refreshments and started to light one, when seemingly out of nowhere the fuzz are directly behind us. Of course sketchy Joel is telling me slow down your going to get me pinched. I'm a good driver so I just kept with the speed limit and thought nothing of it. What seemed like forever really was only like five minutes when the cop finally pulled around us. Joel just laughed and I continued to tell him about my sparkling clean driving record and how he had nothing to fear. No more than three minutes later a nice ass car like a convertable or something literally flew by me goin 100mph, where was the cop then huh? Oh well, even that couldnt dilute my excitement. By this time I was gettin antsy and we were getting close to Pa, so somehow I cowersed Joel into taking the wheel for the rest of the way. We followed the mapquest directions to a T. Note: If you ever are goin to Mr smalls or the Pittsburgh Pa area, it is best to find a hotel in advance before you get there. Id also like to Note: that we did not!!! Once we hit Pa the air turned weird, I say this because and I quote "I am an Ohio country girl through and through." The, well lets call it landscaping, was definatly very interesting. Many of the bulidings were delopidated, falling down, already fell down, or on a slant or a hill. Slanty shanty town is what we nicknamed it lol. Everything seemed to be on a shift as though the town had gone through a earthquake and they all just decided to leave it that way. Dont get me wrong, Ive never meet any of the people that live in this town and my hometown is no New York city either. When we finally got to the "town" area we couldnt figure the roads out. It must be our simple Ohio brains but normally stop signs help to show people where they need to stop and when someone is goin to stop for you. We ended up on the tinnnney street that was Full of buildings. ALl shapes, sizes, and slants. I thought that for real mapquest had like a brain fart and got us totally lost. Just then I looked up at this really pretty church, with a really odd sign out front. It was like a bulletin board, I was expecting it to say "repent for your sins", or "god is my homeboy"...but low and behold it said Ekoostik Hookah. It was the Mr Smalls venue, I asked Joel if this was for real? There was no parking lot, where would stage be? and I cant drink alcohol in a place of worship, do they want us all to go to hell LoL. I was confused He said it must be the place and I was relieved at least we knew where it was....so ok we found the venue, now what? We didnt want to drive all the way to NLQP after the show at like 1 in the morning so we decided we better find a hotel...Please please please read the NOTE above again!!! So we started to trek to find a hotel, after twenty minutes of driving around in what seemed to be a ceasepool of buildings so close that a mouse couldnt even fit through cracks between them...I finally hit my boiling point. There were no hotels in site, no way was I goin to go into the city and pay 200 smackers for a mere couple hours of sleeping it off. I called a friend that lives in butler for advice. She gave us directions to the econolodge, and after thirty more minutes and six phone calls later we FINALLY found it. Thanks LaCrisha. The econolodge was lets say, not horrible. It was under construction and covered in dust. The carpets in the hallways reminded me a episode out of csi, like they didnt wash the blood stains out of the carpet they just left them. Oh quite it, ur scaring me lol. We reached our room and by this time Joel and I both were a bit cranky from being lost in a city we didnt know...and woohoo two beds lol j/k. Being "home" gave us a chance to freshen up a bit. We turned to the t.v on and were happy to find that it changed from an array of colors form being bright green to purple but it was still better than nothing. Lucky for us my friend, LaCrisha, lived like 10 miles away and she knows the roads and said she would drive and even pick us up at the hotel. Shes a saint. We got ready to go and waited for LaCrisha. After a few she made it in and we were off to mr smalls. Unfortunalty I just got my new camera and I wasent 100 percent comfertable taking it to the venue so I have no concert pics... Once we paid and walked it, I was directly smacked right in the face with sweney and his blaring guitar. With this venue you walk right into the stage pretty much, but you know us were lushes so we headed back to the bar. Ir was way in the back, as they ordered I boogied to Right back out in the streets. The place was pretty packed, I guess for as big the place was. I couldnt see cause we were way in the back int he bar area and we couldnt take out drinks past a certain point...I mean there was like a guard there making sure! Sheepdog made me stomp my feet and do the chicken wing, by the that is a dance copywritten by me and no one can steal it...NO ONE lol! I was suppose to meet Dave when we got there but we ended up getting later than we expected so we didnt get to meet up. By the time they played goodtime, voodoo stew and deep river blues most of us were flying high. By the begining of the second set we were def front row center on Daves side. When he saw me he gave me a wave and I recipricated with a girly wave. Sun goes down I definatly was acting a fool, and when Cliff messed up his lyrics *D'oh* I pointed it out....loudly. Oh well, we all got to be the ass sometime right? My friend LaCrishas was having a great time, even though she procalimed that all the old guys would hit on her and it def came true. I saw at least three, shes like a magnet. I met some fellow hookahheads by the bathroom that were heading to washington Dc, OMG i cant remeber names...I feel horrible, I remeber Chris but the ladies names totally flew out my head. Indica-bottle of wine made me think of us wino girls talkin about drinkin. I wanted to txt Kelly but my phone was being a butthole and wasent working. By and when I die my ears were ringin horribley and because I had been up since 6 am that morning I was definatly done in. I got the last little bit of boogie out of my pants and followed LaChrisha out. She was our ride and we didnt want to be stranded. I really wanted to get something to eat but the only place that was open was "Sheets", we got our hamburgers and headed "home". Hugs and airkisses to LaChrisha and we were off to bed. Joel ended up passing out with his eyes open, i thought he was dead. He kept telling me to eat my hamburger and so I did, then he woke and yelled at me cause he wanted to eat with me...Im confused lol. He apologized and said he was drunk and tired and we headed off to bed. ...sleepy time, next stop NLQP....and bathroom to get rid of that horrible burger

BBQ
So after a crazy night...we got up to babies wanting to go to the park, after they got home from church of course. Kell and i reluctantly got up and took em to the park across the street. After a few aspirin, and a bit of time at the park Kell and i were ready to go. The drive to Niles was pretty much like goin to nlqp so it was a really easy drive. Since i drank last night i let Joel be the drunk one this time. Kell was nice enough to let him help her with the beer she got and give us $20 for the ride home *thanks so much and i stil owe ya* What can i say about Hookah...Heres what i wrote off of Hookahheads: It def was a great show...nice intimate crowd of hookahheads, Place packed with great ribs though...many dif selections. It was like a mini carnaval they had rides and games, food and beer, and Hookah. If ya missed it ya missed a good one. You could literally feel the energy emanating from the guys to the crowd and back to the guys. Cliff was on point and had a smile on the entire show...everytime i looked at him it made me giggle cause he had such a bigass grin. John sounded good...Ive never been a huge fan of Johns voice that much, but this show he sounded great! Steve, well what can we say, he was Steve.........Freakin amazing!!! And Eric sang Deep River and it was electric, and he hilarously changed some of the lyrics at the it to something like: I licked her feet i licked her toes, from the Ribs at Fatty Joes. Thats prolly wayyyyyy off but it was great, I love hearin him sing he has a great voice. What can i say about Dave....I was front row center right by him and he was having fun......bounicin his foot to every song and sounding amazing, his voice was on point. I feel like him and john have been working hardcore on their melodies cause their harmony together was fantastic. I wanna hear black water, whoever taped it, cause during the singalong part i swear to you that i was the loudest. Everytime i stopped, to ya know breath and stuff, it was so much quieter...I think it was between me and kell for the loudest to sum it all up: Great sat, great sun!!!Great weekend!!!!!!!!! Chaffee
Dont judge a book by its cover, we had a freakin BLAST this sat at Chaffee Gathering...Joel just likes to replace names with Butthole for some silly reason. So it finally came, sat, It was like any normal feaste sat: Joel and i got off work we packed, told my mom to eat my dust lol, and we were out of there.I had a set of ???'s for Joel to answer, just things about him that i felt like i didnt know, and so we answered those the whole way and just took that time to get to know each other even more. It was fantastic. We drove a long way, 3hrs, till we finally reached PA Once we hit PA it was just a short 10 min drive till you hit the camp area. It literally was like someones back yard and I loved every minute of it. I really enjoy the smaller venue...more family oriented. We parked and immediatly Commensed to Boozin As we went to search for KellyJoe we passed a really sticky and loud vw bus that someone was working on. Joel hysterically said Id love to sleep next to that lol, I go stop being mean what if that was us, He goes it would be funny if it was Kelly. As we got closer we noticed OMG it was Kell. As we walk up laughin hysterically, i gave the already having a wayyyyyy toooo good of time a Kelly a giant hug. She showed us around her booth and her vw.... ...and she finally introduced us to the incredibly nice and wonderful BrotherMike, If you really wan to find someone that is truely awesome person thoughout: Look for Brother mike After much chatting we were getting parched and i wanted to take some more shots before i lost the beautiful light. Def feeling good at this point lol So handsome:o) He gave me a Hitler Mustache LoLoLoLoL Tons more pics in my pic section under ~Chaffee Gathering~ Hookah was a blast what can i say, They blew our minds like always. We got to chat up with Eric and Dave. Eric complimented me on my eyebrows lol needless to say i was flattered lol. We chatted with Dave about the baby and Cassie.It was def a blast. Omg so much fun, see you all next weeknd:o)

What a show.....
This was my second Hookah show at the newport, and it was killer!! Sun goes down, Serpentine, Freedom, Loopers, Waterbear into black mamba!!! What a set it was!!! Very few mistakes, if any, great sound, love'd every minute of it.

BEST DAY EVER
This was the day I got married. My wife contacted Eric, Got us backstage. I danced to HOOKAH in my tux. THANK YOU EKOOSTIK HOOKAH

Dream show!? Can it be!?!?!?
I was at the camp site when i heard Carousel flow from the stage and the dream show had begun!!! Great set, personnally not my dream show, but a very big chunk of it. Some tech. problems with Johns guitar and the lights, but it was all part of the show. Although i don't remember some of these songs the show was again, one of my favorites. Utopia would have been a nice addition, regardless, awesome show!

a fun one!
was happy to have both voted and attended this show! was absolutely floored when XTC ended up being the #1 tune....oh well. aside from the sound issues at the beginning it was a solid show.

Blossom Sat!
Saturday started off turbulent mainly because the wind felt as if it was going to lift us up in our tents like when Dorothy was on her way to oz. With the wind aside the day was absolutely amazing the sun was high and warm, the quarry was soft and chill and the polar bears were out in full force. Polar bears? Yes a group of fire blooded individuals actually jumped the cliff of the ledges into the ice cold water below. The day consisted of dancing and swaying to the assortment of bands, frolicking on the beach, hooping around, or just relaxing baking in the sun. When the sun started setting I saw the beach was abuzz with things going on. Being a veteran of Blossom I knew what was coming soon: the skydivers. Every year they have a couple sky divers fly or I guess fall down from an air plane right onto the beach. It’s a phenomenal site to see the precision that these guys possess in order to get on the right timing and direction to land right on the beach. As soon as they landed and all that mayhem ended hookah took stage and we were all ready to start again for another night. Mullins started our feet out stomping the ground with Washboard Annie then took us into a great version of Thumper. Next they took us on a journey down the Raging River and the guys were on point. Steve’s solo was amazing as always and they really seem to be enjoying this old/new song. After that we heard an actual new song with the new Mullins tune All fall in dreams. Dave came on after to lets us know not to let it get us down because there will always be a Brighter Day. After I felt almost all bounced out Mullins brought they level down a bit with Bluebird which is becoming one of my all time favorite Mullins songs. Mexican opera is always a treat and Three way street kept the tone on a very chill level. Sun goes down was a great way to end the second set off with a bang, jump, knee slap, and bounce. After a short break they started us off again with Ballad of Sam McCully that got us really moving and going. Backwoods rose kept us bouncing off the walls and boogieing. Next was the first Red Newt of 09’ and it Cliff sounded great vocally and on the harmonica. Cripple creek ferry slowed everything down again to a calm trickle like a nice slow float. They brought us back up again to end it with a great mix of Waterbear and Black Mamba that lasted a good thirty minutes of face melting jam. The mix of Dave, John, and Cliff on Waterbear honestly to me sounded a bit off but the harmonies of Black Mamba made up for it. They finished on stage and left to many yells and screams of hookah! They came back on to attempt the Simon and Garfunkel classic Scarborough Fair which to me fell a bit flat but I heard that technical difficulties made it that way and next time it will be on point. I applauded the guys for their attempt on an extremely vocally difficult song. Might I add please don’t play it as an encore, it’s a great song but an encore song it isn’t! Party girl always brings the tempo up on a raunchier note and Keepin’ time ended the weekend on a foot stompin, knee slappin, toe taping, and downright raging fun! It was a great weekend full of friends, family, sun, wind, love peace and happiness. The whole cop situation only dampened the situation slightly but it was not enough to keep us hookahheads down. The weekend in total was a great way to start out a wonderful summer full of music, camping and fun and I personally can’t wait! Let it all begin!

Blossom was a Blast!
Day 2 of blossom fun! Waterbear and black mamba was awesome, the whole show was amazing. This was my first time at the ledges, and what a better way to do it than with the Schwa boys! A weekend of endless fun will not soon be forgotten.

Drunk as all hell
I was at this great venue for two days and loved every min. of the show. I knew I had seen someone tape this but I had thought it was not going to ever show up. Everyone knew that John was drunk as a skunk and listening to the Devil and me is an example. I didn't hear much missing in his playing until the end. I had though the missing on the lyrics was mic problems. Unfortunately this is not the case. This was real short set for hookah standards. The devil=jagerbombs on this one. The show from the next night is a better improvement. When the background vox come in you cannot even hear john. I am not disrespecting john as he is my favorite member of the band. Everyone was real upset when they finished after such a short set. John made it up the next night with a wonder set. Thanks for posting this and now I can listen to both shows back to back and remember the great time I had at Hog Hill. Met some great people. I was hot as hell was the only real complaint. This set was too short by time we got done eating the BBq they were stuck in the snow or the jager. Still love you John and you did good the next night.
